Drivers might see an overturned tractor trailer truck on the southbound side of Interstate 95 in Pittsfield, but police are well aware of it and plan to remove it next week.
The crash happened on Thursday when the driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle near mile marker 143, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said.
The exact reason for the crash has not been made public, but no injuries were reported.
Though there were minor disruptions to traffic after the crash, the truck is fully out of the road and is not impeding traffic. It is scheduled to be removed on Tuesday, Moss said.
Maine State Police in a Facebook post on Friday asked the public to stop reporting the overturned truck.
“We appreciate the assistance, but motorists no longer need to report this incident to 911. The truck is off the roadway, near the tree line, and the area is marked with orange barrels and caution tape,” the post read. “Stay safe and have a Happy Valentine’s Day!”
