Christina Ricci took Hollywood by storm in the 1990s at the age of 9. More than three decades later, she’s an even bigger icon.
Ricci kicked off her career with 1990’s Mermaids as a child star working alongside Cher, Winona Ryder and Bob Hoskins.
“I spent my days hiding from my tutor in Cher’s and in Winona’s trailer — they were both so cool,” the actress exclusively told Us Weekly in February 2024 of her film debut. “I learned so much on set, and Bob Hoskins was amazing. It was just a really incredibly fun experience.”
She went on to become a teen idol for her ‘90s hits, including The Addams Family, Casper and Now and Then. She then made her foray into television with roles on Pan Am, Wednesday and Yellowjackets.

Yet her fame and level of success is lost on her two children. Ricci joked during a February 2025 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that her son, Freddie, used to ask her, “Why are people always hugging you?”
