Why are my tax dollars paying for politicians to go to Florida to conduct their business? They are elected to go to Washington, D.C., where we provide a place of gathering, supposedly safe, to carry out the responsibilities in which they were elected to do. If they want to attend a resort, that includes the president, they should do it on their own dime!
Or maybe a few feel a bit unsafe after their place of business was ransacked by a bunch of criminals, and the police and investigators punished for holding people accountable. Maybe if some people did the same to Mar-a-Largo, and the next president says it’s OK and pardons the perpetrators, we just might realize the absurdity of the actions of our elected officials!
And don’t tell me our elected representatives are fiscally responsible when we all are paying dearly for them not getting a federal budget done on time, and just blaming the other side every time. A person good for excuses isn’t good for much else. Maybe ask a single working mom with a couple kids for advice. She could teach you how best to allocate time and balance a budget.
Do your jobs. This budget and government is for the people, by the people. That means everyone — right, left, center, any color, shape, or identity.
Get back to work in Washington, D.C.!
