There’s something about the number 7 when it comes to rising singer-songwriters Mason Ramsey and Harper Grace — including the official release date for their duet, “Live Lonely,” which Us Weekly can exclusively debut.
“I’m a big numbers girl,” Harper Grace, 23, told Us. “I’ve got a little number 7 tattoo on my arm, which is the number of completion and achievement.”
In addition to the fact that “Live Lonely” is dropping on Friday, February 7, both she and Ramsey had viral video moments at age 11 before going on to pursue music professionally when they turned 18 — seven years later.
“It’s something we’ve been able to bond over and establish more of a connection with each other, which is really nice,” Harper Grace told Us of their parallel trajectories. “I didn’t put two and two together until we had the show in Dallas where I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, Mace.’”
The duo first performed the song together at the Dallas stop of Ramsey’s tour in the fall when he surprised fans by bringing Harper Grace out on stage to debut “Live Lonely.”
It was there that Harper Grace did the math. While Ramsey, now 18, went viral at age 11 in 2018 for yodeling in the aisles of Walmart, she had her own internet moment at the same age when a video of her singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” took the internet by storm. (It was labeled “the worst national anthem ever” by ABC News.)

At 18, Ramsey went on to release his debut album, I’ll See You in My Dreams, while Harper Grace made it to the top 50 on American Idol at that age in 2018.
Ramsey now sees his yodeling video as a completely different “era,” though.
“I look at it as two different eras,” he told Us. “You had the meme world, and then of course I went viral on TikTok for a song and all that. So I look at that as one timeline and then I start from 2023 when I did my EP. That was like, ‘Hey, I’m Mason Ramsey and I’m going in this direction.’”
He continued: “So I think just looking at it is almost two different characters, but two different timelines is how I put it.”
Ramsey and Harper Grace first connected in London, but when they met a second time at CMA Fest in 2024, they decided they wanted to try writing together. A month and a half later, “Live Lonely” was born.
“I [had] just recently broken up with my last girlfriend. We dated for about five months, and it was just a lot that was going on at the moment,” Ramsey said of his inspiration for the song. “I used it as an opportunity to write about my experience with this girl and my feelings for her.”
And then: enter Harper Grace.
“She surprised me by writing her own little piece and just kind of throwing it on there,” Ramsey added. “[It was] beautiful. I think it just added to the song and it just made it feel more like the situation I was going through all over again.”
“Live Lonely” is out everywhere Friday, February 7.
