A man allegedly assaulted a woman with a gun and held her against her will in Brewer on Monday.
Richard Bock, 22, was charged with aggravated assault, criminal restraint, domestic violence aggravated assault, creating a police standoff and violating his conditions of release, according to the Brewer Police Department.
Bock allegedly assaulted the woman multiple times, including with a firearm, and held her against her will. She managed to escape and was taken to the hospital, where she was treated for serious injuries.
Police tracked Bock to a home at Riverview Terrace.
Bock has a violent history, and police believed he had a firearm, so tactical teams were deployed to Riverview Terrace, Brewer police said Tuesday.
Bock didn’t respond to early attempts to communicate with him, but eventually he responded and left the residence and was arrested by police.
Bock, who had two active sets of bail conditions, was taken to the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor, where he was being held without bail.
