Cold temperatures will return to Maine for the next couple of days before our next snowstorm arrives Thursday. Plowable amounts of snow are expected.
Tuesday will feature sunshine, blustery winds and dropping temperatures. It will be in the 20s by the afternoon, and with gusty northwest winds, it will feel like the single digits.
Wednesday is looking sunny but very cold, with highs in the teens to near 20 degrees. We will likely be below zero Wednesday night.
Our next storm then gets going Thursday, likely starting in the late morning or early afternoon. Several hours of steady to heavy snowfall is likely Thursday afternoon, gradually winding down in the evening.
The snow may end as a light freezing drizzle or sleet.
For totals, this storm looks to bring a very uniform 3-6 inches of snow across the state with slightly lower amounts in northern Maine. Stay tuned as some shifts are still possible with snow totals.
We’re then seasonably chilly Friday and Saturday with a decent amount of sunshine. Highs will be in the 20s to around 30 degrees.
Another storm moves in Saturday night. Models are in great agreement that this will be a pretty much an all-snow storm beginning Saturday night and continuing until Sunday afternoon.
A longer-duration storm, colder temperatures and a more favorable track for snow means this one likely brings more snow than Thursday, potentially double digit amounts in spots. Stay tuned as we refine this forecast through the rest of the week.
