A Massachusetts teen was injured Saturday morning in a snowmobile pileup near Eustis.
The 17-year-old was riding a Yamaha SXV Viper with a group of eight snowmobilers east on Tim Pond Snowmobile Trail toward Eustis, according to the Sun Journal.
The group was stopping when five of the snowmobilers crashed into each other. The 17-year-old was hit from behind, and the crash fractured his back in several places, the Sun Journal reported.
The crash happened in a remote area, so the boy was carried by snowmobile for 12 miles to a waiting ambulance.
He was taken to MaineHealth Franklin Hospital in Farmington.
Two adults were injured in the crash as well, but neither required an ambulance to take them to the hospital, the newspaper reported.
