A woman died Saturday night after crashing into a tree in Portland.
The 42-year-old South Portland woman was driving near Brighton and Highland avenues about 9:11 p.m. when she left the road and hit a tree, according to Brad Nadeau, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department.
She was taken to Maine Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries, Nadeau said Sunday.
The crash remains under investigation.
