The Maine Discovery Museum is happy to announce a series of celebrations marking our 24th “birthday” serving our community. Culminating in what is MDM’s biggest fundraiser, Mixology at the Museum, the week offers engaging opportunities for families and adults to support MDM while enjoying the spirit of discovery, play, and community.
At every event, adults can participate in raffles featuring specialty baskets and a cash prize. The three raffle baskets have the themes Out and About, Sports, and Family Fun. A special raffle will be exclusively available at Mixology at the Museum.
Event Lineup:
Trivia Night at the Stage Door
Date: Friday, Jan. 24
Time: Doors open at 6 p.m., Trivia starts at 6:30 p.m.
Location: 115 Main Street, Bangor
Test your knowledge with trivia covering Maine, Discovery, Museums, Science, and Play. Gather your friends for a night of friendly competition and fun as we kick off MDM’s birthday week!
Cupcakes & Cocoa at the Museum
Date: Sunday, Jan. 26
Time: 2-4 p.m. (or until supplies last)
Location: Maine Discovery Museum
Sweeten your Sunday with cupcakes and cocoa, courtesy of MDM’s dedicated volunteer event committee. This special treat is included with admission.
Middles at the Museum
Date: Thursday, Jan. 30
Time: 5:30-7 p.m.
Location: Maine Discovery Museum
Middle schoolers (grades 5-8) can enjoy this drop-off event with activities like a scavenger hunt and game area. Tickets are $5 per person, available now.
Mixology at the Museum
Date: Saturday, Feb. 1
Time: 7-10 p.m.
Location: Maine Discovery Museum
Don’t miss our grand finale! This adults-only fundraiser is an evening of entertainment, including a cash raffle, specialty basket raffles, dancing, a silent disco, and delicious food. Each floor will feature a unique specialty cocktail or mocktail crafted with Maine spirits, paired with a touch of science. Tickets are $75 per person.
Mixology at the Museum is sponsored by Birchbrook and Maine Savings Federal Credit Union. Proceeds support the Maine Discovery Museum’s mission to inspire lifelong learning through discovery and play.
