Snow has come to an end across Maine, and frigid air is moving in. A mostly dry but very cold week is ahead with the coldest temperatures in about two years expected.
Monday will be sunny, very cold and breezy. Highs will be in the upper teens or low 20s, and with the breezy winds, it will feel like the single digits both above and below zero. There will also be areas of blowing snow.
Monday night will be frigid with almost all of Maine falling below zero. This will be the first time since February 2023 in many spots.
Tuesday will be even colder than Monday.
Highs will be in the teens under sunny skies, wind chills likely remain below zero for much of the day.
Tuesday night will bring subzero temperatures once again. Wednesday won’t be very windy, but will still be very cold with highs in the teens.
After one more night with widespread subzero temperatures, Thursday will not be as cold. Highs will be in the 20s with more clouds, a snow shower couldn’t be ruled out either.
Temperatures only slowly moderate into the weekend. Highs will be near 30 by Saturday with dry weather continuing, and some may get above freezing Sunday.
No major snowfall is expected in the next seven days.
