The family of two missing sisters in Aberdeen have issued a heartfelt plea for information, saying “all we want is for them to be found”.
Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, both 32, were last seen on CCTV in the city’s Market Street at Victoria Bridge at about 2.12am on 7 January.
The siblings – who are part of a set of triplets and originally from Hungary – were captured crossing the bridge and turning right onto a footpath next to the River Dee in the direction of Aberdeen Boat Club.
Their disappearance almost one week ago has sparked a major search operation.
The search team has included specialist advisors, emergency service partners, a police helicopter, and the force’s dog branch and marine unit.
In a statement released through Police Scotland on Monday afternoon, the women’s family said: “This has been a very worrying and upsetting time for our family.
“We are really worried about Eliza and Henrietta and all we want is for them to be found.
“If you think you might have any information which could help the police with finding Eliza and Henrietta then please pass this on as quickly as you can.
“We appreciate all the support our family has been given over the past few days and we would like our privacy to be respected at this time.”
The women’s brother, Jozsef Huszti, had previously issued a family statement on social media and urged people not to spread fake news in regards to the siblings’ disappearance.
A friend of the women told Sky News: “I hope they’ll be found safe soon.”

Police Scotland previously said there has been “no evidence” of the missing sisters leaving the immediate area.
Extensive searches have been carried out on the River Dee and surrounding areas, with the operation ongoing on the riverbanks between Wellington Bridge and the South Harbour.
CCTV footage from the area where the women were last seen is also being examined, with door-to-door enquiries being carried out, as well as speaking to local business owners.
Chief Inspector Darren Bruce said: “Eliza and Henrietta’s family remain extremely worried about them and we are in regular contact with them as our searches continue.
“We know that people across Aberdeen are also seriously concerned for the two missing sisters and I would again urge anyone with information which could help to get in touch with us.”

The sisters, from Aberdeen city centre, are described as slim with long brown hair.
Those with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage are again urged to come forward.
CI Bruce added: “I would again ask, if you were in the area in the early hours of last Tuesday morning, please think back, did you notice anyone matching their description?
“Even if it doesn’t seem significant, please pass any information on. Any piece of information could prove crucial.”
