Thaddeus Moss, the son of NFL legend Randy Moss, vehemently shot down a rumor about his father’s current health struggle.
Concern started to build about Randy, 47, after Larry Fitzgerald Sr., the father of former NFL star Larry Fitzgerald, posted via X on Tuesday, December 10, that Randy “has liver cancer.”
“Let’s show the power of prayer and pull Moss through this 
,” Larry Sr. wrote. “I love you Randy.”
ESPN announced Friday, December 6, that Randy would be stepping away from the network’s Sunday NFL Countdown “for an extended time to focus on a personal health challenge.”

Thaddeus, however, did not take kindly to Larry Sr. posting about his father without the family’s consent.
“This is disgusting,” Thaddeus responded via X on Tuesday. “You have no right to try to make private matters public for the sake of engagement. I do not believe my father talks to you, so check your f—ing sources.”
It didn’t take long for Larry Sr.’s message — which has since been deleted — to pick up steam, however.
Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre, who briefly played together with Randy on the Minnesota Vikings, posted via X, “Just heard the news that Randy Moss has liver cancer. Prayers to him and his family.”
Thaddeus responded, “Brett, the support is appreciated, truly. This is not true. My father will address the world when he is ready to.”
Brett amended his post and deleted the line about Randy having cancer.
While Larry Sr. did not directly respond to Thaddeus, he did repost a message that seemed to acknowledge his initial message about Randy was wrong.
“If I’m being 100% honest, I would appreciate the prayers,” the repost said via X. “Prayers up should equal healing for me whether they have the right diagnosis or not.”
Randy first opened up about his unspecified illness on Sunday NFL Countdown earlier this month.
“Me and my wife and my family, we are battling something internally,” Randy said on the broadcast December 1. “You know, I have some great doctors around me. I couldn’t miss the show, I wanted to be here with you guys.”
Randy has been married to his wife, Lydia Moss, since 2015.

The former football star was noticeably wearing glasses on the show, which he insisted wasn’t meant to be “disrespectful.”
“I’m battling something [and] I need all the prayer warriors,” he said. “God bless you and thanks for the prayers.”
In a video posted via Instagram before hitting the air on December 1, Randy urged his followers to be vigilant about their health.
Randy said, “All you men, do your checkups, get your bloodwork done and we’ll work through it.”
