It wasn’t just you. This Halloween was the warmest on record for Bangor.
The high in Bangor hit 78 degrees Fahrenheit on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service office in Caribou.
That surpasses the old record of 71 degrees, set in 1956, the weather service said Thursday.
It’s also the warmest high for Bangor so late in the year. The previous record high was 75 degrees, set on Nov. 6, 1938.
The Queen City wasn’t the only place where new temperature records on Halloween.
In Caribou, Thursday’s high of 77 degrees surpassed the previous record — 69 degrees — for Oct. 31, set in 1989. It also was the warmest temperature seen in Caribou so late in the year, breaking the record of 75 degrees, set on Nov. 10, 2020.
Houlton saw a record high 73 degrees, surpassing the record of 70 degrees, set in 1956. It also was the warmest high for this late in the year. The old record was 73 degrees, set on Nov. 10, 2020.
Finally, in Millinocket, trick-or-treaters were treated to a high of 75 degrees, breaking the record of 71 degrees set back in 1989. Much like Bangor, Caribou and Houlton, that high is the warmest temperature Millinocket has seen so late in the year. The previous record — 74 degrees — was set on Nov. 10, 2020.
