On Friday, the city of Lewiston and community members across the state will come together to honor and remember the victims of the Lewiston mass shooting that happened a year ago.
The ceremony will take place at The Colisée in Lewiston, and will be livestreamed on CBS 13/WGME’s YouTube.
Amazing Grace will be performed at the commemoration, along with a presentation of the colors, the National Anthem, songs, slide shows featuring a reading of the names, and photos of those killed, stories of loss and survivorship, and reflections on resilience.
At 6:56 p.m. and 7:08 p.m., moments of silence will be held to mark the exact times the shootings happened at Just-In-Time Recreation and Schemengees Bar & Grille one year ago.
Doors open to the public at 5 p.m. and the program begins at 6 p.m.
