Maine has expanded a recall for cannabis products sold at two dozen stores across the state.
The Maine Office of Cannabis Policy issued a recall for pre-ground cannabis flower, pre-rolls and blunts of the strain Frosted Cookies from Nova Farms on Oct. 11
The products failed bacteria, yeast and mold tests. The recall is for products sold between Sept. 17 and Oct. 8 at 14 stores from Presque Isle to Medway, to Greenville Junction, to South Portland.
On Thursday, the cannabis office expanded that recall to include more pre-ground cannabis flower, pre-rolls and blunts of the Frosted Cookies strain, as well as pre-ground flower of the Frozay strain.
Another nine stores in Auburn, Bethel, Bridgton Eliot, Gardiner, Lewiston, Portland and Waterville sold products targeted by the expanded recall.
Like the earlier recall, tests found unsafe levels of bacteria, yeast and mold, according to the cannabis office.
Consumption may cause sinus issues, allergies, headaches, dizziness, flu-like symptoms and fatigue, the cannabis office said.
Buyers should return the products to the retailer or throw them away.
The Maine Office of Cannabis Policy issued its first recall last month for pre-roll strains called GG-4 and Portal and the pre-roll and cannabis flower strain Jelly Donutz from the company Cannabis Cured. The Nova Farms recall is only the second issued since recreational cannabis use was legalized in Maine.
