A Peru woman will spend 15 years in prison for selling methamphetamine to an undercover officer.
U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Torresen handed down the sentence against Mandy Lynn Shorey, 43, on Tuesday, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
Shorey also will serve five years of supervised release.
Between July 2022 and January 2023, Shorey sold about 3.3 pounds of meth to an undercover officer over four occasions, the U.S. attorney’s office said. During three of those sales, the meth was nearly 100 percent pure.
In November 2022, Shorey told the undercover officer while they waited for a supplier to bring 2 pounds of meth to them in Portland that she carried a gun for protection when meeting new customers. She removed the gun from a bag and placed it in her waistband, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.

She told the officer that she would bring an “armed man to back me up … just in case” to ensure the safety of their next transaction, the U.S. attorney’s office said.
On Jan. 26, 2023, Shorey sold the undercover officer about 1 pound of meth in Portland.
That night Portland police stopped Shorey and recovered a Charter Arms .22-caliber revolver during the traffic stop.
Shorey pleaded guilty to trafficking meth and for possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime in U.S. District Court in Portland on April 18.
Shorey’s supplier, Angel Luis Lozano of Lowell, Massachusetts, pleaded guilty on Feb. 15. He was sentenced on July 15 to five years in prison and five years of supervised release.
