A boy died Tuesday evening after collapsing at the YMCA in Bath.
The child, whose identity wasn’t made public, collapsed while playing on the field during a youth sports program, the Bath Area Family YMCA said in a Wednesday evening social media post.
Staff performed CPR until paramedics arrived to take him to the hospital, where despite “best efforts” to save his life, the child died, the Bath Area Family YMCA wrote.
“Our entire Y family is deeply saddened by this situation. Our thoughts and prayers remain with this young child, his family and friends, as well as those who came to his aid,” the organization wrote.
No additional information was immediately available.
