A 4-year-old girl who died after being struck by a vehicle in North Berwick on Thursday was in the driveway of the day care she attended.
The incident occurred at 74 Buffum Road at about 4:45 p.m.
The girl was standing near her father’s pickup truck, which was parked in a small parking lot halfway up the driveway, according to North Berwick police, when Krystal Meyer, the parent of another child, arrived in a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse SUV and started to park near the pickup.
According to police, the girl came out from beside the pickup and was hit by the left rear wheel of Meyer’s SUV.
CPR was attempted on the girl at the scene, according to police. She was rushed to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, New Hampshire, where she succumbed to her injuries.
