SCARBOROUGH — For the second consecutive year Town & Country FCU, which has two locations in Portland, took top honors as “Best Credit Union” in the 25th annual “Best of Portland” competition. The “Best of Portland” designation is the fourth such honor that the credit union has received in the past year, having previously been named “Best Credit Union and Best Home Mortgage Lender” in the “Best of the 207”, as well as one of a handful of credit unions in Maine to receive the “Best In State Credit Union” designation by Forbes.
The “Best of Portland” program, coordinated by Portland Old Port, is one of the largest of its kind in the state and this year’s competition received more than 213,000 votes, a new record. In total, nearly 150 organizations and individuals were honored with a “Best of Portland” designation.
