An Appleton resident was killed in a Saturday afternoon crash in Searsmont.
Dakota Deane, 24, was among four occupants of a 2007 Nissan Versa that went off Appleton Ridge Road and hit two trees about 1:36 p.m., according to the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.
Deane died at the scene, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday morning.
The other three occupants, whose identities weren’t released, suffered serious injuries and were transported for medical care.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is being released at this time.
