A 70-year-old woman has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after an eight-month-old baby died after being hit by a car outside a hospital.
Mabli Cariad Hall was in her pram when a white BMW struck it outside Withybush Hospital, Pembrokeshire, Wales, on June 21 last year.
The baby was airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff for treatment, and later moved to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, but died four days later, on Sunday 25 June.
Bridget Carole Curtis, of Begelly, Pembrokeshire, has now been charged with causing Mabli’s death by driving dangerously.
She will appear at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on 22 August.
An inquest opened in July last year heard the eight-month-old died of severe traumatic brain injuries.
Mabli’s family said they are still trying to come to terms with the loss in a statement issued via Dyfed-Powys Police.
They said: “This last year has been the most horrendous time of our lives.
“Our family life has been changed forever and to this day we are still trying to come to terms with what has happened.
“Every day is a day of pain for us, even now, but as parents we still have to give the love and support our other children need as they are still trying to come to terms with losing their baby sister.”

The family added they are “grateful that we have now reached this stage of the process” and labelled the charge “the biggest step forward we’ve had since June last year”.
