Maine politicians denounce violence in wake of shooting at Trump rally

Maine politicians from both parties quickly denounced violence and offered prayers for Donald Trump following a shooting at the former president’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.

Trump appeared to have blood on his ear as he left the stage after the shooting, though it is unclear if he was hit by gunfire.

The gunman and a rally attendee are dead, a local prosecutor told the Associated Press.

U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R-ME

I am very relieved that President Trump appears to be OK; however, this violence is absolutely appalling. Thank God for the Secret Service and first responders who hurried President Trump out of harm’s way.
