A stolen motorcycle suspected to have been involved in a hit-and-run which left a three-year-old boy injured has been seized by police.
Officers are still trying to trace two males who were reported to be on the bike at the time of the incident in the Fenham area of Newcastle.
The boy sustained a broken arm and bruising to his body and needed hospital treatment after the collision shortly before 8.15pm on 20 June, police said.
Northumbria Police added the pillion passenger is believed to have been thrown from the bike before he and the rider fled the scene.
Sergeant Dave Roberts said: “We are continuing our efforts to better understand the circumstances around this incident, where a young boy was sadly hurt.
“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has any information around the stolen motorbike, as we believe this could prove crucial in our investigations.
“We’d also like to say a big thank you to those who have already come forward and assisted enquiries.”

Police said the bike was reported as stolen from an address in the Wessington Way area of Sunderland on 11 May.
Officers added anyone with information about the vehicle from when it was stolen to the date of the collision should contact them online or by calling 101.
