A man is accused of assaulting another man at the Portland Fish Pier on Monday.
Stephen Thuotte, 62, of Sebago has been charged with assault, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, creating a police standoff and refusing to submit to arrest, according to Brad Nadeau, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department.
Thuotte allegedly assaulted the man at the fish pier off Commercial Street, leaving him with injuries not considered life-threatening, Nadeau said Tuesday,
When police arrived to speak to Thuotte, who was on a boat docked in the area, he refused to respond to officers’ attempts to contact him.
Thuotte then allegedly came out of the cabin, exposed himself to officers and yelled expletives at them, Nadeau said.
Thuotte returned to the cabin, started the engine and began to untie the docking lines, according to Nadeau.
Officers used pepper-spray and stun guns to subdue Thuotte, Nadeau said.
No additional information was immediately available.
