The Maine Department of Health and Human Services is upholding its decision to suspend Medicaid payments to Gateway Community Services over what the state calls a “credible allegation of fraud.”
Earlier this year, audits uncovered more than $1.7 million in overpayments tied to the provider between 2015 and 2022.
Gateway denies the allegations and now has 60 days to request an administrative hearing if it wishes to continue its appeal in the case.
