BELFAST — The Belfast Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 23 from 9 a.m. until noon at the Belfast Boathouse and Steamboat Landing. The sale will take place rain or shine, and will feature perennials, herbs, annuals, trees and shrubs in addition to a table of member-made arts and craft items and the gardener-to-gardener table of gently used garden goods. Shoppers are encouraged to come early, bring boxes or wagons to transport plants and be ready to find some outstanding specimens grown by club members and local nurseries who have generously donated goods for sale.
Founded in 1928, the Belfast Garden Club is a licensed nonprofit organization with over one hundred members. Proceeds from this major fundraiser for club-supported scholarships, book donations to libraries, educational programs, Belfast’s 13 public gardens and donations to environmental and garden-related causes at other local non-profits. Donations stay within the community, so funds from your purchases are put to work where you can see and enjoy them.
