The late Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, wed his fourth wife, Cat Jarman, five months after finalizing his third divorce.
The Earl of Spencer, 61, tied the knot with Jarman, 43, an archaeologist and podcaster, in a private ceremony in Arizona on Friday, May 15, the couple told People.
“We both feel so incredibly lucky to have progressed from being colleagues, to friendship, to deep love and connection,” Spencer and Jarman said in a joint statement to the outlet on Tuesday, May 19. “Each stage of our relationship has been underpinned by laughter and we share a passion for life.”
Spencer was previously married to Victoria Lockwood from 1989 to 1997, Caroline Freud from 2001 to 2007 and Karen Gordon from 2011 to 2025. Spencer and Gordon finalized their divorce in December 2025, the Times of London reported at the time. He has seven children from his three marriages.

Spencer confirmed his split from Gordon in June 2024. “It is immensely sad. I just want to devote myself to all my children, and to my grandchildren, and I wish Karen every happiness in the future,” he told the Mail on Sunday at the time.
In a June 2024 Instagram post, Gordon wrote, “Just wanted to say that I have been overwhelmed by the messages of love and support. Thank you, it has really meant a lot to me. I’m just processing at the moment. Will come back to you soon.”
Prince William and Prince Harry’s uncle confirmed he was in a new relationship with Jarman, who is 18 years his junior, in November 2024.
“I’m 60, so if I said Cat was my girlfriend, it makes me sound 20, doesn’t it?” he told the Mail on Sunday. “I’m too old for hearts and flowers stuff, but the best way to describe it is that with Cat, I can be myself.”

He added, “She knows who I am. Who I really am. I don’t have to pretend to be something I am not. And she brings out the best in me.”
Spencer told the U.K. newspaper that he “wasn’t looking” for a romantic relationship when he met Jarman.
“I am 18 years older than Cat and so there wasn’t even the possibility,” he said. “I’ve never been with a much younger person. I wasn’t even thinking romance. I was at the tail end of a marriage. It just wasn’t a possibility.”
“I’ve never tried to do a hard sell on Cat. She’s very canny, very emotionally mature,” he said of Jarman. “With her I don’t pretend to be anything I am not. She knows exactly who I am — and who I am not.”
