A New Hampshire trucker crashed into a Maine Turnpike Authority truck early Friday morning in Farmingdale.
Dennis Barber, 48, of Wilton, New Hampshire, was cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle and improper passing of a stationary emergency or public service vehicle using lights, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Barber was driving on the turnpike, near mile marker 106, about 3:45 a.m. when he struck a Maine Turnpike Authority truck mounted attenuator at a tapered lane closure before going into the ditch.
A truck mounted attenuator is an energy-absorbing crash cushion mounted to a heavy vehicle.
A turnpike worker suffered minor injuries, Moss said Friday afternoon.
The crash remains under investigation.
