Visitors must bring their own water to Camden Hills State Park for the foreseeable future.
The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, which manages Maine’s state parks, on Wednesday issued a “do not drink” order for Camden Hills’ water.
It’s not yet clear when visitors can again consume the park’s water.
Camden Hills, located off U.S. Route 1, is open year-round. It features about 20 trails and offers visitors opportunities to hike, bicycle, camp and picnic.
The Mount Battie Road, which reopened April 19, gives visitors easy access to the mountain’s peak, where they can experience picturesque views of Camden Harbor and Penobscot Bay.
Camping will be permitted again beginning May 15.
