We write to express our support for Matt Dunlap’s candidacy for Congress in Maine’s Second Congressional district. We know Matt primarily as a robust and devout member of his faith community in Old Town.
While his experience and skill are widely known, we are impressed with his acceptance of the great commandment to “love thy neighbor.” He is helpful to all of us, but he is a particularly good neighbor to our indigenous population who live nearby and in other areas of the state.
Matt served on the landmark Maine Wabanaki-State Child Welfare Truth and Reconciliation Commission in 2015 and later as chairman of the Episcopal Diocese Commission on Indigenous Relations.
We feel these efforts to provide justice and mercy for all of our citizens well suit him to the responsibilities of this office.
