It wouldn’t be fashion’s biggest night without Rihanna and ASAP Rocky stealing the show at the 2026 Met Gala.
The Grammy winner, 38, slayed the “Costume Art” theme on the Monday, May 4, red carpet at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Rihanna arrived fashionably late, wearing a crystalized turtleneck paired with a metallic skirt. The garment included a sphere that engulfed her body.
While on the red carpet, the “Umbrella” singer posed for photos with Rocky, 37. She complemented the look with a gold headpiece and soft gold and silver glam. She placed diamond jewels by her eyes for an added flair.
Rocky, meanwhile, donned a tux with a baby pink coat. The couple were all smiles as they looked loved up as they posed for photographers.
Rihanna — who previously cochaired the Met Gala in 2018 — has become one of the most iconic mainstays of the event since her 2007 debut. With eight galas already under her belt, her past standout looks include her 2015 Guo Pei yellow coat-dress hybrid, her 2018 papal-inspired rhinestone minidress, coat and hat by John Galliano for Maison Margiela and her 2021 black voluminous Balenciaga overcoat.

In 2025, Rihanna showed off her baby bump in a Marc Jacobs ensemble — complete with a black cropped blazer, a long pinstriped skirt and a black wide-brimmed hat — amid her newly revealed pregnancy with her andRocky’s third child. The couple, who also share sons RZA, 3, and Riot, 2, welcomed daughter Rocki in September 2025.
Weeks before the 2026 Met Gala, Rocki made her magazine cover debut alongside her famous mom for W’s Pop Issue.
“Cover girrrrrlz!!!” Rihanna wrote via Instagram on April 21. “Baby Rocki served sumn serious on her first cover! Came on set and shut her mama dowwwnn!!!! @wmag 🥹💞.”
In the cover photo, Rihanna held her daughter, who wore a first-of-its-kind custom Dior Haute Couture diaper.
“When Rihanna asks for something, she is already ahead of what is happening,” Dior creative director Jonathan Anderson told W. “She is thinking outside the box. When she has an idea, I’m always trusting in the process. I trust her implicitly on anything she feels that is right to do.”

Anderson, 41, added that Rihanna is someone who “knows exactly who she is and what works on her. She knows how to interpret your creative vision and make it her own.”
Elsewhere in the profile, Rocky praised his partner of six years.
“She has changed a lot because she became a mother in that time span, and that certainly changes you,” he gushed. “But this woman has always been magic. Philosophically, the way she operates is on another level. She is the most charming and genuine person on Earth. Her energy is unmatched — one of a kind. I just adore her.”
While Rihanna’s family life is thriving, she experienced a traumatic ordeal in March when multiple rounds of gunfire were fired at and ultimately hit her Los Angeles mansion while she was home. Us Weekly subsequently confirmed that 35-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz was arrested and held on a $10 million bail in connection to the incident.
The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office charged the suspect with “one count of attempted murder, 10 felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and three felony counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or camper.” Ortiz pleaded not guilty to the charges; she faces life in prison if convicted.
Rihanna and ASAP Rocky have yet to publicly comment on the incident.
