Savannah Bananas star Jackson Olson can conquer the baseball diamond — and handle meeting girlfriend Maggie Sajak’s famous father.
“I have [met Pat Sajak], he’s a great guy,” Olson, 28, exclusively told Us Weekly on Friday, May 1, when asked about meeting the retired Wheel of Fortune host, 79, while promoting his new BZZR platform. “Everybody’s nervous to meet the father of the person they’re dating, or mother or both.”
He continued, “I’m a very weird person, I’m a very out there person. I’m not going to hold back who I am as a person, and people seem to enjoy that company. I’m happy that I’m able to be myself truly in every aspect now.”
Maggie, 31, confirmed via Instagram late last month that she sparked a romance with Olson.

“It’s really cool because we’re obviously living very different lives right now on the opposite side of the country, but we’re able to come together and just have an awesome relationship,” Olson gushed on Friday. “I feel like in any relationship, you’re trying to figure out how to see each other as frequently as possible, which is never something that I thought in my past I was going to want to do … but now I really do.”
Despite living across the country, Olson and Maggie have remained committed to their blossoming romance.
“It’s just about planning and making sure you’re setting aside time to see each other and make really cool experiences happen because a start of a relationship never happens again,” he said. “You only get one chance at a start of a relationship.”
Amid their whirlwind relationship, Maggie has made it out to Bananas games to support her new beau.
“I start sweating and I’m like, ‘I can’t strike out because then I have to hit a home run.’ Even though I do strike out a decent amount,” Olson told Us of his pregame nerves knowing Maggie is in the stands. “I’ve gotten that out of the way of, like, the nerves there. Every person that I care about in my life has seen me play with the Bananas now, so it’s smooth sailing. If I play poorly, whatever, it’s life. We’re not playing for a World Series here.”
All in all, Olson is hopeful to make Maggie proud of her boyfriend’s athletic (and musical) career with the Bananas.
“I’ve always wanted to make people proud of me in anything that I’m doing, I want to make people proud,” he explained to Us. “Obviously, I want to make my parents proud … [and] now I want to make Maggie proud, I want to make my teammates proud.”

Olson further expanded his résumé with the launch of BZZR, a new all-sports online platform.
“I always love seeing sports content, but the cool thing that BZZR does is that they cut out everything else. It’s literally just sports with verified people,” he said of the app. “You don’t have to worry about seeing politics [and] you don’t have to worry about seeing anything else that you don’t like, and it’s just sports for sports fans. I think that’s a really cool thing where you know every single time you scroll or whatever you’re watching, you know you’re about to see something that you want to see.”
