A Cape Elizabeth man allegedly sold fentanyl to undercover cops this week.
Peter White, 48, was charged with aggravated drug trafficking and drug trafficking, according to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
White’s arrest on Wednesday came after a week-long investigation into drug trafficking in Scarborough.
White was staying at a Payne Road hotel, where he was allegedly selling drugs. Police arrested him after making undercover drug purchases, the MDEA said Thursday afternoon.
A search of his hotel room turned up 3.3 pounds of fentanyl, an ounce of crack cocaine and about $2,700 in suspected drug proceeds, according to the MDEA.
The drugs were worth an estimated $60,000.
White was taken to the Cumberland County Jail in Portland, where he was held on $75,000 bail. He was scheduled to appear in court on those charges Friday.
