Beyoncé fans are convinced that the singer is gearing up to drop another surprise record — but are the theories true?
Rumors started swirling in late April that Beyoncé was teasing her highly anticipated Act III record while celebrating the 10th anniversary of her album Lemonade.
The singer celebrated the milestone in her music career with a series of new Instagram photos on Monday, April 27. Beyoncé wore a ruffled purple YSL gown in the images, reminiscent of the yellow one she wore in the Lemonade visuals. The Beyhive was quick to speculate that the photos were a hint for Beyoncé’s upcoming album.
“SHE COMING,” one person commented on the post. Others noted that the singer has been more active on social media lately, which they also took as a clue. (Before her recent posts, Beyoncé’s last Instagram upload was from February.)
Along with the album speculation, some fans wondered whether Beyoncé’s return to social media might just be in preparation for the 2026 Met Gala on Monday, May 4. Beyoncé was previously named one of the event’s co-chairs, meaning that she will definitely be in attendance.

Beyoncé’s PR rep, Yvette Noel-Schure, shut down any album speculation while responding to an X post about the potential Act III rollout.
“The album is 100% complete, only vinyl pressings remain, expected to be finished before June 2026, showing a summer release,” the X post claimed, alleging that the album has “two big features” and the Met Gala would “officially” begin the era.
“This is unequivocally false!!” Noel-Schure responded.

During the Tuesday, April 28, episode of Today With Jenna & Sheinelle, both Bush Hager and Jones shut down rumors that Beyoncé had a surprise album drop in the works for May.
“In the middle of the night, a very reliable source in the wee hours, wee hours, called — now this is not ‘reliable source,’ friend of, this is a reliable source,” Bush Hager said. Jones clarified that it was “not” Beyoncé herself making the call.
“No, no, it’s not the most reliable, but it’s pretty reliable,” Bush Hager added. “And we don’t want you to be disappointed so brace yourself, sit down. We can report, Act III is not coming out next week. Sorry.”

Bush Hager and Jones made it clear that the Act III album is coming — just not right now.
“I think it’s good, though. Because that way, no one is disappointed. You know what I mean?” Jones explained. “Because she’s such a lovely human. I don’t think she wants anyone to wait around and then it doesn’t happen.”
