A Boston man and Unity woman allegedly have been trafficking drugs into the Swanville area.
Candy Duprey, 38, and Claudio Villae, 45, have been charged with aggravated drug trafficking, according to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
During a six-month investigation into drug trafficking around Swanville, agents learned that a trafficker, later identified as Villae, was traveling with drugs aboard a Greyhound to Waterville, where Duprey picked him up Monday.
Police then intercepted the duo in Waterville before they could head to the midcoast.
A search turned up more than 137 grams of cocaine HCL and 66.6 grams of heroin.
Duprey and Villae were taken to the Kennebec County Jail in Augusta. Villae was being held on $100,000 bail, while Duprey, who had an active arrest warrant in another drug trafficking investigation, was denied bail.
The investigation is ongoing.
