Denise Richards is once again remembering her late friend and frequent costar Patrick Muldoon following his tragic death.

“Pat & I were supposed to do press this week for Dirty Hands,” she wrote via Instagram on Thursday, April 23, alongside a clip from new crime thriller Dirty Hands, which is due for release on Friday, April 24.

Richards, 55, continued, “He was so passionate about this movie & worked so hard on it. He was personally close to many involved. We did our first movie together & I am so blessed & grateful I did his last movie with him.”

“While I’m still in shock and devastated, I wanted to share this clip,” she added. “I know he would want everyone to see the movie. His dear friend Kevin [Interdonato] wrote & directed & acted in it & his dear friend Guy [Nardulli] produced & acted in it. He was so proud of this movie 🙏💔✨.”

Richards’ daughter Lola Sheen commented on the post, “Ugh I love you mom I’m so so sorry. He’s cheering you on from heaven ❤️.”

Muldoon died early Sunday, April 19, after suffering a heart attack. The actor was 57.

Muldoon and Richards dated briefly in the 1990s but remained close friends throughout their careers, appearing together in several movies, including 1997’s Starship Troopers. More recently, Richards played Muldoon’s love interest in the music video for his song “Gray Again,” and Muldoon also made an appearance on Richards’ Bravo reality show Denise Richards & Her Wild Things.

“This is so hard for me to put into words. I am deeply heartbroken & devastated losing you. You were my best friend & my family,” she wrote. “We met in our first acting class, I was 19 never had an acting job and you were 21 a student at USC doing a recurring role on Who’s the Boss.”

“The friendship, love, support, respect & loyalty we had was unconditional and rare. You lit up every room you walked into. Your laugh, your kindness, your wit, your strength, your loyalty, your passion and your zest for life. We’ve been each other’s rock.”

“I don’t know what I’m going to do without you here. You’re my voice of reason & pillar of strength,” Richards wrote. “Especially during this last year of pain & heartache. And now I need you more than ever, for this pain and heartache losing you. Schweetbabe we’ve had those conversations. We thought we’d live forever or at least into our 90’s.
