When Dr. David Yarborough says or writes something about wild blueberries, everyone should pay close attention. I think he is the world’s foremost authority on everything wild blueberries.
Read the column he wrote, published in the Bangor Daily News on April 16. Yarborough has studied the vaccinium species in Maine, Canada, Europe, China and Alaska. I’ve worked with Yarborough for over 40 years, and his facts and opinions have always been correct.
Furthermore, when you write or caption pictures, please be aware that individual tracts of land are called wild blueberry fields. The wild blueberry barrens are generally thought of as a section of Maine in the southern part of Washington County, and even on the barrens, individual tracts of land are called fields.
