Storage Wars alum Darrell Sheets confronted alleged cyberbullies in the weeks before his death at 67.
“I have been hacked by a very evil person,” Sheets wrote via Facebook on March 9. “The clown. [The posts] are not done by me, they are being done by … very evil people. I’m not gay, I have made no posts about any children’s arcade owner, etc. I’m extremely sorry and sick over this.”
Sheets further claimed that the alleged bullies “ruined” him.
“He said he would, please understand it is not me,” the reality TV alum stated. “People are showing up to my work and wanting to harm me. The police are aware of this but [their] hands are tied because Facebook allows this and it is very bad.”
Police Investigating Claims Darrell Sheets Was Cyberbullied Before Death
Days later, Sheets claimed his “cyberbully stalker” also victimized others via social media. (Us Weekly has reached out for comment.)
“He has been going after other small businesses in town and harassing them, using my name,” Sheets wrote on March 11. “It is not me! He has extorted money from many people in this town acting like a handyman. This has been going on for three years with him, and the things he says are very damaging. This is a felony called cyberbullying.”
Us confirmed on Wednesday, April 22, that Sheets died by apparent suicide. He was 67.
“On April 22, 2026, at approximately 0200 hours, officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 1500 block of Chandler Drive in reference to a reported deceased individual,” a statement from Arizona’s Lake Havasu City Police Department read. “Upon arrival, officers located a male subject who suffered from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The male was pronounced deceased on scene, and the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit was notified and responded to the scene to assume the investigation.”
Sheets, known as “The Gambler,” appeared on A&E’s Storage Wars between 2010 and 2023. On the show, Sheets and other cast members bid on abandoned and unopened storage lockers in auctions.
“We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell ‘The Gambler’ Sheets,” a spokesperson for A&E told Us on Wednesday. “Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
When Was ‘Storage Wars’ Star Darrell Sheets Last Seen Before His Death?
An official cause of death has not been confirmed.
Sheets’ Storage Wars rival, Rene Nezhoda, further claimed on Wednesday that his former costar was bullied online.
“This is not an easy video to shoot. Unfortunately, Darrell Sheets took his own life. So he passed away,” Nezhoda, 49, said in a video obtained by TMZ. “I know a lot of you guys think we hated each other because we competed a lot on the show. We had our moments, we had our run-ins but that’s because we were both competitors … we’re the biggest threats out there. So deep down, me and Darrell were friends.”
Nezhoda further implored individuals from bullying others in tribute to Sheets.
“I know Darrell would want something positive out of this. He had a guy really tormenting him lately on cyberbullying,” he said. “Just cause you watch us on television doesn’t mean you know us … it doesn’t mean you know what we’re about. Also it doesn’t entitle you to bully somebody.”
Darrell is survived by his two children, Tiffany Shane Sheets and Brandon Sheets.
