Police in Arizona are investigating claims that Storage Wars star Darrell Sheets was bullied online before his death by apparent suicide.

“We are aware of these cyberbullying accusations and that is a part of the active investigation,” a spokesperson for Arizona’s Lake Havasu Police Department told TMZ and other outlets on Wednesday, April 22.

Us Weekly has reached out to the Lake Havasu Police Department for comment.

Lake Havasu PD previously confirmed to Us that Sheets was found dead inside his home early Wednesday morning. He was 67.

‘Storage Wars’ Cast Reacts to Darrell Sheets’ Death by Suicide at Age 67

“On April 22, 2026, at approximately 0200 hours, officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 1500 block of Chandler Drive in reference to a reported deceased individual,” the department said in a statement. “Upon arrival, officers located a male subject who suffered from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The male was pronounced deceased on scene, and the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit was notified and responded to the scene to assume the investigation.”

According to the police, Sheets’ body was “turned over to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s office for further investigation. The male subject has been identified as Darrell Sheets, a 67-year-old resident of Lake Havasu City and Darrell’s family has been notified. This incident remains under active investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.”

Later on Wednesday, Sheets’ former Storage Wars costar Rene Nezhoda claimed in an Instagram video that Sheets was subjected to intense cyberbullying before his death.

“He had a guy really tormenting him lately on cyberbullying,” he said in the video. “Just ’cause you watch us on television doesn’t mean you know us … it doesn’t mean you know what we’re about. Also it doesn’t entitle you to bully somebody.”

“You shouldn’t cyberbully at all. As a matter of fact. If you have somebody in your life that thinks it’s fun to cyberbully other people, maybe a celebrity athlete or a little girl or school or schoolmate, slap [them] in the back of the head,” Nezhoda said. “Make them become a better human being, because you never know what demons somebody faces and what they go through and what you might push them through.”

Sheets appeared on A&E’s Storage Wars for 15 seasons from 2010 to 2023.

An A&E spokesperson told Us in a Wednesday statement, “We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell ‘The Gambler’ Sheets. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
