Former tennis pros Ashley Harkleroad and Chuck Adams are headed for divorce after 16 years of marriage.
Adams, 54, filed for a legal separation on Tuesday, April 14, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason, according to documents obtained by Us Weekly.
Harkleroad, 40, and Adams married in September 2009 and share son Charlie, 17, and daughter Cissy, 15.
Adams is seeking joint custody of their kids, with Harkleroad retaining physical custody and him being awarded visitation. He also asked to terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support to Harkleroad.

Additionally, Adams requested to amend his petition after he is able to sort out his current assets and debts.
Though both athletes enjoyed long tennis careers, Harkleroad was the better known of the two, ascending to No. 39 in the world in June 2003. She also became the first active tennis pro to pose for Playboy in 2008.
Harkleroad explained to Reuters at the time that the decision to pose nude came while she was recovering from surgery to remove an ovarian cyst.
“I was just laying there for three weeks, and, you know, an offer came to me,” she said. “I thought, ‘Well, I’m not really doing anything right now,’ so I thought about it and it was something that I did. I’m proud of my body. I was representing a female athlete’s body.”

Harkleroad added, “I stay in shape and try to stay fit, so like I said, I’m just trying to represent a female athlete and her body. That can be sexy too, you know.”
After retiring from tennis in 2012, Harkleroad became a commentator for Tennis Channel for nine years. She then joined OnlyFans in 2022, writing on her since-deleted profile that she was “Here to enjoy free expression… I’m back and better than ever.”
Lately, Harkleroad’s social pages still hold plenty of modeling photos, but they also serve as a tribute to her kids, while photos of Adams are notably absent. Charlie is a high school basketball star while Cissy is a Fila-sponsored tennis player.

Most recently, she posted a pair of happy birthday messages for her children, as their birthdays fall just two weeks apart.
“Happy 17th birthday to the best son I could’ve ever dreamed of,” Harkleroad wrote alongside a carousel of photos of Charlie on March 25. “Some days I can’t even believe how sweet and funny and tough and strong and resilient and hard working and bad ass you really are! You make so many people happy just by existing and being you. You keep your circle very small, you don’t care to fit in and you naturally stand out. You’re a one of a kind type of kid. I hope you have the best year yet! I love you sooooo much! Happy Birthday.”
On April 4, she did the same for Cissy, writing, “Happy 15th bday to my lil mini me. Can’t believe how fast time flies! I never worry about you girl, you are intuitive, funny, beautiful, tough and street smart. You know what you want and you hustle to make it happen. Happy Birthday my little LA queen 👸.”
