Taylor Frankie Paul is in a “much better place right now” after resolving her latest domestic violence dispute with ex Dakota Mortensen — and she’s ready to get back to work.
“She’s hopeful Secret Lives of Mormon Wives will continue soon and cameras will pick back up,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly, noting, “Nothing has been confirmed yet.”
While Hulu has yet to announce whether SLOMW will resume filming season 5 following Taylor, 31, and Dakota’s domestic dispute drama, Taylor is working towards bettering herself in preparation for a potential reality TV return.
“For now, she’s trying to mend things with the other girls so everyone can move forward peacefully,” the insider says, referring to Taylor’s dynamic with the majority of her castmates. “It’s still a work in progress.” (The show was halted in March after the exes’ alleged altercation transpired in late February.)

Although Taylor is rebuilding trust with some of her costars, the source says she has been “leaning a lot” on castmate Jessi Draper.
“They’ve gotten even closer lately since they’re both going through hard times and can relate to each other,” the source says, referring to Jessi’s ongoing divorce from estranged husband Jordan Ngatikaura.
Jessi, 33, was the first of the SLOMW cast to show public support for Taylor after police declined to press charges for the February 2026 incident earlier this week.
“So freaking proud of my resilient, strong and beautiful friend ❤️ @taylorfrankiepaul ily more than words,” Jessi wrote via her Instagram Story on Wednesday, April 15.
News broke in March that SLOMW paused production on the next season and a source later told Us that the stars were “terrified to film” with Taylor amid the state of her and Dakota’s tumultuous relationship.
As police investigated the 2026 incident, footage from Taylor and Dakota’s 2023 domestic dispute came to light. In the video, Taylor threw chairs at Dakota, 33, as her daughter, Indy, cried in the background. (Taylor shares Indy, 8, and Ocean, 5, with ex-husband Tate Paul and son Ever, 2, with Dakota.)

Taylor later pleaded guilty to felony aggravated assault in exchange for dismissing the other charges against her. As part of her plea deal, it was determined that Taylor’s aggravated assault charge would drop to a misdemeanor in August 2026.
After seeing the newly released footage, ABC cancelled her season of The Bachelorette just days before its debut on March 22.
Dakota then filed for a temporary restraining order against Taylor and requested temporary custody of their son, Ever, both of which were granted.
Taylor received a big win on Tuesday, April 14, when the Salt Lake City District Attorney’s Office declined to file charges against her for the February altercation with Dakota.

“Taylor feels like she will bounce back from this, especially now that there won’t be any charges filed against her,” the insider tells Us. “She knows her legal battle is far from over but does feel like she had a small victory.”
Taylor and Dakota are still figuring out their custody situation, with Taylor being granted her own temporary restraining order against Dakota on April 8 ahead of their court hearing later this month.
“She’s doing really well mentally and has been focusing on healing and staying in therapy,” the insider tells Us.
