A math teacher at a Florida high school was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor after a student’s parents became suspicious of an “inappropriate relationship,” authorities said.
Special Victims Unit agents with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Kirsten Rose, who works at Cocoa Beach Junior/Senior High School, on Friday, April 10, according to the sheriff’s office.
Rose, 37, is charged with lewd and indecent exposure offenses against a student by an authority figure and five counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, the sheriff’s office said in a Saturday, April 11, news release.
Court records viewed by Us Weekly on Monday, April 13, did not indicate whether Rose had an attorney who could comment on her behalf.

In March, the parents of a male high school student believed their son “was having an inappropriate relationship with a teacher, after he was late coming home from work one evening,” the sheriff’s office said.
This led to an investigation that revealed Rose allegedly started messaging the student on Instagram in November 2025, according to authorities. The student’s grade and age were not specified.
They continued communicating for the next several months, with their alleged relationship turning “sexual on multiple occasions” throughout February and March, the sheriff’s office said.
The student’s parents, who had access to their son’s location, questioned the student in March when they noticed he was at a home they were not familiar with, according to authorities.
The student said that “he was at his girlfriend’s house, but refused to say who she was,” the sheriff’s office said.
Eventually, he admitted to having a relationship with Rose, according to authorities.

Rose was detained in the Brevard County Jail, where she was being held without bond, according to the sheriff’s office.
As a result of her arrest, she was placed on leave by Brevard Public Schools, officials confirmed to Space Coast Daily.
Cocoa Beach Junior/Senior High School, where she works, has about 1,050 students in grades 7 to 12.
Brevard Public Schools Superintendent Mark J. Rendell did not immediately return a request for comment from Us.
Rose was due in court for an initial appearance on April 11, court records show.
Her arraignment has been scheduled for May 5.
