A wildfire burned nearly a dozen acres in Clifton on Sunday.
The fire broke out off Route 9, also known as Airline Road, about 11:53 a.m., according to the Eddington Fire Department, which responded to the blaze alongside crews from Holden.
Firefighters could see a large amount of smoke even before they arrived at the scene, and when they did, crews encountered a growing grass and wood fire.
It took firefighters about two hours to get the flames under control, but continued to monitor for and put out hotspots as the day progressed.
The fire ultimately burned 11 acres, which the Eddington Fire Department called one of its biggest wildfires in years.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
