Alex Jones has reacted after President Donald Trump publicly criticized the radio host and other conservative figureheads.

“Well, President Trump came out on Truth Social and attacked myself and all the original MAGA supporters today,” Jones, 52, said in a video shared via X on Thursday, April 9. “I’m just so sad that whatever’s happened to him has totally changed the man he once was. He did so much good.”

Trump, 79, condemned Jones and fellow commentators Candace Owens, Megyn Kelly and Tucker Carlson over their disapproval of the ongoing conflict in Iran.

“They’re stupid people, they know it, their families know it, and everyone else knows it, too! Look at their past, look at their record,” the president claimed on his social media platform. “They don’t have what it takes, and they never did!”

Jones, for his part, acknowledged that Donald’s social media message came “a few hours” after his wife, Melania Trump, publicly denied having a connection with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“Apparently Trump didn’t know,” Jones said, referring to reports that Donald was uninformed about the speech ahead of time. “She [said] she supports a full investigation by Congress in the Epstein cover-up. Trump says, ‘Epstein’s a hoax.’”

He added, “So, Trump’s got big problems, folks, and I am just so concerned about this country and the world.”

Jones previously supported Donald’s presidency. (The former businessman was elected to the White House non-consecutively in 2016 and 2024.)

“I supported the old Trump and got so many good things done,” he stated on Thursday. “At the end of the day, I just feel sorry for him and pray that God touches his heart and soul and [just] free him from the demonic influences that he’s under. It’s just that simple. This is a nightmare.”

Jones further claimed that Donald acted like a “supervillain” over his alleged plans to wipe out entire civilizations in the Middle East.

“I have to come out against it. It’s just that simple,” Jones said. “Again, Trump’s own wife came out in an unannounced press conference today and said the Epstein crimes are real and she wants the victims in front of Congress, and that’s the opposite of what Trump’s saying. Looks to me like she’s [breaking] with Trump because she knows the ship’s sinking and she just found out the truth.”

Melania, 55, and Donald have been married since 2005, welcoming son Barron the next year. Donald is also the father of four children from his previous marriages to Ivana Trump and Marla Maples.

Neither Donald nor Melania have addressed the status of their marriage. Jones, meanwhile, clarified his intentions in speaking out against the president.

“This is a terrible day and it’s a nightmare for America and the world, but I’m gonna tell the truth and report the facts no matter what it is,” Jones said. “Are people who said I defended him too long right? I guess they are. I did it from a place of believing he was the lesser of the two evils.”
