President Donald Trump declared the United States the “hottest country in the world” during his first public appearance since rumors swirled that he was recently hospitalized.
“One year ago, a little bit more, our country was dead. We were a dead country. We had an administration that didn’t know what the hell they were doing,” Donald, 79, said while greeting guests alongside first lady Melania Trump and the Easter Bunny at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday, April 6.
Donald continued, “Today, we have the hottest country anywhere in the world. We’re respected by everybody. That’s the way we’re going to keep it. And most importantly, I want to just say Happy Easter and God bless America. We have the greatest country on Earth. God bless you all. You are very, very special people.”
The president’s appearance at the event comes after viral rumors that he was hospitalized on Saturday, April 4. White House communications director Steven Cheung denied the unfounded and uncorroborated claims in a social media statement.

“There has never been a President who has worked harder for the American people than President Trump. On this Easter weekend, he has been working nonstop in the White House and Oval Office,” Cheung wrote via X on Saturday. “God Bless him.”
The administration’s rapid response account also issued a statement.
“Deranged liberals cook up insane conspiracy theories when @POTUS goes 12 hours without speaking to press,” the post read. “(They said nothing when Biden routinely went 12 days without speaking to press.) Fear not! President Trump literally never stops working.”
Donald has faced frequent speculation about his health in the past year, particularly after he was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) in July 2025. The common health issue is a “form of venous disease that occurs when veins in your legs are damaged,” according to the Cleveland Clinic. CVI causes blood to “pool” in leg veins, which the clinic says can lead to “high pressure” in the veins.

“There was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease,” the president’s physician, Sean Barbabella, noted in a health report, which was shared in a press release at the time.
Though Donald did not appear at any Easter events on Sunday, April 5, he took to social media to share a message for the holiday.
“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran,” he posted via his social media platform Truth Social. “There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F***in’ Straight, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell — JUST WATCH!”

He concluded, “Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
The post garnered a wave of reactions from Hollywood A-listers and former political allies.
“Invoke the 25th already,” country singer Maren Morris wrote over a screenshot of the post.
Former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who was once a firm supporter of the president, wrote via X, “On Easter morning, this is what President Trump posted. Everyone in his administration that claims to be a Christian needs to fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God and stop worshiping the President and intervene in Trump’s madness. I know all of you and him and he has gone insane, and all of you are complicit. I’m not defending Iran but let’s be honest about all of this.”
