A vehicle was engulfed in flames after a Friday morning crash on Interstate 295 in Yarmouth.
A vehicle went off the northbound side of the highway, near mile marker 16, and came to a rest in the median about 7 a.m., according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Two passing vehicles stopped to help the driver, and while they rendered assistance, a fourth vehicle struck both vehicles, pushing one into the first vehicle in the median.
The fourth vehicle then was engulfed in flames, Moss said.
No one was injured in the crashes.
The crash remains under investigation.
