The Real Housewives of Rhode Island star Kelsey Swanson is not a sugar baby — and don’t you forget it.
“My relationship is very unorthodox. This man dates multiple people,” Kelsey said during the Bravo show’s premiere episode, which aired on Thursday, April 2. “For the first half of the year, my boyfriend is in Miami. When he’s in Miami, he’s with somebody else.”
Kelsey explained to viewers that she lives “a life of luxury” and has been “a lady of leisure” for 10 years.
“Living in a 16,000-square-foot home, the house literally has everything that I need. Four kitchens, 79 TVs, the closet — the best part,” she said. “My boyfriend’s family is probably one of the most prominent families in the state of Rhode Island, and he has allowed me to live a life of not being able to work.”
Kelsey explained that she met her boyfriend — who has not yet been named — when she was 19. They’ve been in a 10-year relationship, with Kelsey calling her boyfriend “a good person.” However, they’re not always together.
“For a good five months of the year, he’s gone. So I’m in a literal empty house where it’s just me,” she explained.
Kelsey noted during her lunch with costar Liz McGraw that she’s unbothered by living alone for half the year.
“When I have my free time and I’m solo, to be honest, I f***ing love it,” she said.

However, Kelsey is looking for a “committed relationship” now that she’s in her 30s.
Liz also weighed in on Kelsey’s relationship during her confessional on Thursday.
“Kelsey and her boyfriend, they have an age disparity,” she explained. “But I don’t think he’s that old because he’s actually my age.”
Kelsey offered some insight into her relationship while chatting with Us Weekly exclusively ahead of the RHORI premiere.
“I am not a sugar baby. Nothing close to it,” she clarified. “The only man I ever dated with money [is] my boyfriend.”

Fellow RHORI star Ashley Iaconetti recalled hearing about Kelsey’s relationship for the first time, telling Us she’s not “shocked by anything” anymore.
“I was just kind of curious as to why she would be OK with it, because she’s so stunning,” she explained. “I’m like, ‘You could have anybody you want. Why do you want to be with somebody who has another girlfriend?’”
Going into her first season as a Housewife, Kelsey explained to Us that she had “no boundaries” when it came to discussing her relationship.
“All I knew was that I was going to be honest about it,” she explained. “I would never talk bad about my relationship or who I [am] with, especially because it’s been 10 years of my life. I always knew I’d be honest without talking negatively.”
