Anna Duggar has largely stayed out of the public eye since her husband, Josh Duggar, was convicted for receiving and possessing child pornography in 2022 — but glimpses of her life have slowly emerged over the past few years.
Josh was sentenced to 151 months in prison in May 2022. His request to appeal was terminated by the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in October 2023, and the Supreme Court also rejected an appeal filed by Josh in June 2024.
Josh has maintained his innocence and is still fighting to appeal his conviction amid news of his brother Joseph Duggar‘s March 2026 arrest on child molestation charges. More recently, Anna’s supportive emails to Joseph following his arrest surfaced. Joseph pleaded not guilty to the charges and has been released on a $600,000 bond.
Us Weekly explores Anna Duggar’s life amid Josh’s incarceration:
Anna Duggar Has Been Standing by Her Husband
Throughout it all, Anna has remained by Josh’s side. The couple wed in 2008 and share seven children: Mackynzie, Michael, Marcus, Meredith, Mason, Maryella and Madyson.
“She won’t move on with another man,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in 2022. “They don’t believe in divorce.”

A second insider stressed that year that Anna was focused on her kids. “They’re her No. 1 priority and that will never change,” the source told Us. “She’s with them all the time. She’s going to stand by her husband and she’s going to continue raising their kids to the best of her ability.”
Anna has not publicly addressed Josh’s scandal and arrest. She reportedly continues to raise their children on the Duggar family’s Arkansas compound. In 2025, In Touch reported that her father-in-law, Jim Bob Duggar, purchased a 6,318-square-foot home in Arkansas with six bedrooms on 10 acres of land, which was believed to be for Anna and her children.
Anna Duggar Has Been Spotted on Rare Public Appearances
Anna was spotted attending a community event in Arkansas on December 10, 2024. The former TV personality was seen breaking traditional Duggar family clothing rules in a pair of jeans, paired with a sweater and sneakers. According to the outlet, Anna attended the event with one of her and Josh’s seven children.
Then in November 2025, Anna made another rare public appearance — this time debuting a brand-new look. She was spotted with three friends in a November 17 photo shared by Hilltop Nutrition in San Mateo, Florida. Anna wore a denim dress with ruffled sleeves and traded her naturally brunette locks for a light blonde shade.
The hair transformation made her nearly unrecognizable to social media users. “I barely recognized her, which was probably why she went blonde tbh,” one fan wrote, with another adding, “It took me so long to find her!!! Looks way different.”

Anna Duggar Has a New Business Venture
Anna has also launched a dog breeding business. She registered Golden Grove Pups, LLC, in May 2024, filing paperwork with the Arkansas Secretary of State’s office, according to In Touch. She was listed as the sole agent, incorporator and member.
In August 2025, the Golden Grove Pups Instagram account shared rare videos of Maryella and Madyson in matching dresses, cuddling with golden retriever puppies. “Giggles, cuddles, and little paws 🐾 💖 These are the sweetest days,” one caption read.
Anna Duggar’s Family Members Have Weighed In
Not everyone in the Duggar family understands Anna’s decision to stay with Josh.
“I have no idea why Anna has decided to stay with Josh, and what she is dealing with there and everything,” Josh’s sister Jill Duggar told Access Hollywood in September 2023 while promoting her book Counting the Cost. “I have no idea, and I’m just, I guess, watching with everybody else, kind of just what unfolds.”
Jill added that she wanted to respect Anna’s boundaries. “I have seen her on a few occasions, but I also want to respect [her]. I know she’s asked for some space, so we want to respect that as well,” she shared.
Joseph Duggar Was Last Seen in Jessa’s Holiday Video Before His Arrest
Josh and Jill’s cousin Amy Duggar King has also been vocal about supporting Anna if she ever decided to leave Josh. “Anna, I feel for you. No woman wants to be in your shoes. You’re faced with an impossible decision and you’re being surrounded by the wrong kind of support,” Amy wrote via Instagram in May 2022. “You’ve been taught since you were a child that marriage is forever and you prayed for God to send you a partner. You’ve constructed a life and a family with him. You didn’t choose any of this, and your kids certainly didn’t either.”
Anna Duggar Is Supporting Joseph Duggar After His Arrest
Joseph was arrested in Arkansas in March 2026 on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior after allegedly molesting a 9-year-old girl in Florida in 2020. The victim, now 14, told police that Joseph “eventually apologized for his actions” at the time before “the incidents stopped.”
In emails obtained by Us Weekly from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Arkansas, Anna offered practical advice seemingly drawn from her own experience navigating Josh’s incarceration.
“You’ve got our prayers. We love you — however we can help, please let us know,” Anna wrote to Joseph on March 21. She also cautioned: “Just remember, don’t talk about anything legal unless you are with an attorney. Everything said in these messages, phone calls and video chats are recorded and turned over to prosecutors.”
Anna referenced Josh’s time at the same facility, writing, “Joshua’s experience there at Washington County was fairly safe.” She also revealed she had spoken with Joseph’s wife, Kendra Duggar, about how she was coping, calling her “an amazing woman.”
“She loves you deeply. She was strong on the phone call, except for when she talked about it being a month before she can see the kids. My heart breaks for all of you,” Anna wrote of Kendra.
Joseph was extradited to Florida, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was released on a $600,000 bond.
