A New Portland man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly setting fire to three structures.
Ashley Taylor, 43, has been charged with arson, according to the Maine fire marshal’s office.
Taylor is accused of setting three fires, one of which dates back to 2023.
He allegedly set fire to a remote camp on Levi Road in Moscow on June 28, 2023. Taylor knew the owner with whom he had a disagreement. The blaze destroyed the camp.
The following spring, on May 5, 2024, Taylor allegedly set fire to a building owned by his mother and a 1987 Fleetwood RV owned by his nephew, both on Taylor Pit Road. The fires destroyed those structures.
He was taken to the Somerset County Jail in Madison, where he was being held on $100,000 bail for the Moscow fire and $100,000 bail on the New Portland blazes.
