Joseph Baena is the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mildred Baena.
The bodybuilder became a notable name because of his famous father, but Joseph continued his rise to fame with an appearance on the 2022 season of Dancing With the Stars. Joseph partnered with Daniella Karagach and finished the season in fifth place.
Like his father, Joseph has a passion for bodybuilding. Joseph won his first-ever bodybuilding competition in March 2026. He took home wins in the Men’s Open Body Heavy Weight Class, Men’s Classic Physique True Novice and Men’s Class Physique Novice categories at the NPC Natural Colorado State competition.

Joseph previously told Men’s Health that he and his father connected over their shared interest in fitness.
“Even though I could call him anytime, I was too proud,” the Los Angeles resident explained in February 2022. “My dad is old school, he doesn’t believe in handouts. He believes hard work pays off, and so do I. I love the word honor, and I’m very prideful in the sense that if I use my dad’s contacts or ask him for favors, I wonder what honor is that gonna bring me?”
He added, “I don’t have to do what my dad did. I don’t have to get into acting or bodybuilding. I’m very motivated and driven. I’m happy about my relationship with my dad.”
Arnold is also the father of Katherine Schwarzenegger, Christina Schwarzenegger, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Christopher Schwarzenegger, whom he shares with ex-wife Maria Shriver. The actor revealed years later that he and Mildred welcomed Joseph days after Christopher was born in 1997, confirming that he had an affair.
